The primaries for South Carolina’s 2022 election will take place on June 14 as voters narrow down Republican and Democratic candidates ahead of the November 8 general election.
Voters can participate in any party’s primary in South Carolina, which does not provide for party registration.
If no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote in the race for office, a runoff will be held on June 28 and voters who participated in that party’s primary will be able to vote in the second round.
Visit scvotes.gov to register to vote, check eligibility, view sample ballots, and find polling locations. Voters must register at least 30 days before an election to vote.

Why are you running for election: I ask for your support so that I can continue to fight for American jobs, energy independence, and the ideals instilled in our Constitution by the Founding Fathers. I am proud to stand with hardworking patriots who support our law enforcement and tirelessly fight for the rights of unborn children. Plus, I’m proud to stand up for small businesses in South Carolina by fighting against tax hikes and bureaucracy. As I often note, America’s debt problem is not due to a lack of taxation, but rather to uncontrolled spending. Having been recognized as one of the most fiscally conservative members of Congress, I think Washington needs to learn to live on a budget, just like countless families across the country are doing. Together, we will continue to support common sense policies that protect our constitutional rights and keep the American dream alive for our posterity.
